DRIFTLAND
BBM Motorsport Oran Park Cup - Off-Street Drift Comp - Round 2 Friday 1st August 2008After a great turnout for Round 1, Off-Street Drifting returns to Driftland@Oran Park on August 1st with Round 2 of the Oran Park Cup. We are expecting this three-round drifting comp to be very popular, so get in early and pre-book your spot. Spoils go to the winner with trophies and prizes up for grabs.
The competition will be held over 3 nights: Round 1- Friday Night 11 July Round 2 - Friday Night 1 August Round 3 - Saturday Night 18 October Competitors may enter for $120 per round or $300 for the whole series. The nights will consist of a random draw for qualifying, and a normal top 32 battle tree from there. Drivers who lose in the Top 8 battles will have the chance to have a “consolation Top 4” battles tree, and ensure everyone gets a good amount of track time. Expression sessions will be available for drivers who are knocked out in the Top 16. Unlike our normal night drift events, this event is open to non road registered cars. DA drivers are welcome to enter and will be seeded in the qualifying draw. Winners of each round and series will win prizes, and there will be a prize for the highest placed privateer in the series. The price for competitors is $120 or $300 for the whole series. As its a comp, a CAMS licence (2NS) is required. Spectators are welcome at the reasonable fee of $15, with children under 12 free. About DriftlandDriftland is the Northern section of Oran Park’s famous Grand Prix Circuit. Driftland comprises parts of the Grand Prix circuit, Bike Racing circuit and Go Kart circuits. Driftland provides a variety of corners and a variety of options for drifting, from the beginners’ to high speed massive angle drift battles. Driftland is a fantastic place for drifting beginners. Beginners practice on a lower-speed circuit designed to assist you with car set up and give you plenty of run off room until you are able to graduate to the other parts of Driftland. For experienced drifters, Driftland is able to host Australia’s best high-speed drift battles. In 2004, Driftland hosted some high speed drifting between then Japanese D1 drivers, Izemuda, Bai and Tezuka. Driftland regularly hosts drift tournaments which culminate in the exciting Top-16 elimination drift battles, for which Driftland has become famous. Australia’s best drifting teams and drivers regularly battle it out at Driftland. Driftland is the perfect place for the beginner or more experienced drifter to hone their skills and be a drift battle winner.
