BUILDING A SOLID LEAD

SuperTruck Nationals points leader Bob “The Builder” Middleton (from South Australia) ensured he has every chance of stretching his advantage when he put his CAT Freightliner on pole position for the first race of round four at Mallala Motorsport Park this weekend.

Middleton’s best lap was a 1 minute 27.6525 second circuit which was 1.4 seconds faster than nearest Biodiesel SuperTruck Nationals rival Steve Zammit (New South Wales) in his Direct Power Steer Kenworth.

John Bomberle, another local, at the wheel of his Hi-Trans Express Keworth was next best ahead of the Camden Signs Volvo N12 of Ben Rose. Fifth fastest was the smaller engined Statewide Transport Isuzu SBR of Light Truck series leader Steve Coulter while Daniel Bajema completed the third row in his HiTec Oils Kenworth.

Behind that duo were the Re-Car Kenworth of Frank Amoroso and Colin Lovett in his Pirtek Volvo while the Isuzus of Colin De Gee and Michael Seton filled the top ten ahead of Robert O’Connor’s Diamond Reo and Stan Seton’s HVMS Isuzu.
